Social media gives boxers the opportunity to connect with their fans, spread the word on upcoming fights, and share the goings-on in their lives. They can also earn money through social media via product promotion and sponsored posts.
Fans will follow their favourite stars and boxers in order to keep up with the latest gossip and support them, but what exactly can boxers earn on social media? Geezers Boxing uses social media data to reveal the earning potential of 25 boxers.
Methodology
Using Twitter and Instagram data, we recorded the total followers and engagement rate across both platforms for 25 boxers. We then used the Influencer Marketing Hub to calculate the maximum USD per post before converting this into GBP. The results were ranked by total potential earnings across both Twitter and Instagram.
For the purposes of consistency of data, we opted not to include YouTube and TikTok data, as not all of the boxers listed had profiles on these platforms.
Floyd Mayweather holds the title on Twitter
Twitter is a popular choice for celebrities looking to utilise social media, with Backlinko reporting that there are over 397 million users on the platform. It is fast-moving and allows people to engage in news and communities as things are happening. This rapid pace and the easy ability to share content from your favourite boxers make it a popular platform.
How much boxers can earn from just one post on Twitter varies. We discovered that the highest earner was Floyd Mayweather, with the maximum earnings per post at £72,524.02. With nearly 8 million followers, he is the most popular boxer and also has the potential to make the most money from just one Tweet.
Logan Paul, who has built up a following as a YouTuber, comes 2nd with potential earnings of £58,072.19 per post with a 6,297,420-strong audience. By comparison, Yordenis Ugás comes in 25th, with nearly 20,000 followers and a potential earning per post of £181.63.

Khabib Nurmagomedov earns the most on Instagram
While Twitter has a reputation for being a fast-paced platform, Instagram is known for being highly visual. Boxers can easily share photos, promotional material, and videos from fights. It has become extremely popular, with Backlinko reporting that it has seen a rise to 1 billion active users since its launch.
Instagram works differently from Twitter, which may explain the changes in the top boxers on this platform. Over on Instagram, Khabib Nurmagomedov has the most earning potential, with over 32 million followers and a maximum earning per post of £79,478.46.
Floyd Mayweather does well on Instagram as well as Twitter, with 27,700,000 Instagram followers and the potential to make £66,744.03 per post. Welsh boxer Liam Williams sits at number 25 on Instagram, with the potential to earn up to £294.16 per post with an audience of 47,101 followers.
