No boxing gym would be complete without a boxing ring. Here at Geezers, we have you covered with the widest range of floor boxing rings, platform boxing rings, and professional boxing rings for competitions. You can even customise your ring to suit your needs. They don’t just look good - they fulfil an important function. Rings limit the amount of space you spar in, meaning you’ll have to think tactically and use the ring strategically to beat your opponent.
The duration of a boxing round is determined by the match's class or quality. A professional bout will take place at a different time than an amateur bout, a heavyweight title bout, or an Olympic bout. The age category also influences the length of a round. Professional boxing contests have the longest bouts, lasting three minutes, up to 12 rounds. Each round in amateur boxing can go up to three minutes with three rounds for men and two minutes with four rounds for women.
In a boxing ring, there are four corners: one red, one blue, and two white, often known as the neutral corner. One boxer is assigned to the red corner, while the opponent is assigned to the blue corner, so that the referee, who is stationed in the white, can readily distinguish between them.
Regulations specify that professional boxing rings must be square with sides and no less than 16 feet or more than 24 feet. The size of the ring is usually a contractual agreement, but in theory, the size of a professional boxing ring can range by up to 8 feet.
The square circle was decided on for boxing as it was supposed to maximise the viewing area surrounding the fight. The ring has now been adopted for Thai boxing and Muay Thai, however, MMA uses a more circular stage or an Octagon for the UFC.
Professional and Training Boxing Rings
Training boxing rings are designed to help your fighters improve their skills within a contained area, helping them to prepare for a fight. Close-up boxing rings keep your fighters close together, forcing them to rethink their strategies, improve their reflexes, and gain a greater understanding of footwork in the ring. We also have custom training boxing rings for you, so you can make your boxing ring your own with gym branding.
Holding competitions or professional fights in your arena? We have an extensive collection of competition boxing rings. These professional boxing rings are made to the specifications of boxing competitions, such as AIBA, so you can fight in the knowledge that your ring is compliant with regulations.
Sometimes, you’ll simply need a ring for improving your skills. If so, we have both fixed flooring boxing rings and freestanding boxing rings. Available with and without flooring, these rings can easily be installed into your space without difficulty, giving your boxing club a more authentic feel.
